Picture Frames | Joann
Our classic wood picture frame brings timeless elegance to any room. Each frame is crafted from solid pine with a smooth satin finish that complements both color and black-and-white photography.
The real glass front protects your photos from dust and UV fading, while the easel back and sawtooth hanger give you flexibility for tabletop or wall display. We’ve included pre-cut acid-free matting in white to create a gallery-quality presentation right out of the box.
This frame fits standard 8×10 prints with the mat, or remove the mat to display 11×14 images. The 1.5-inch wide molding adds substantial presence without overwhelming your artwork, making it ideal for family portraits, wedding photos, and fine art prints.

Frame Materials & Construction
We build Joann’s picture frames with materials chosen for durability and visual appeal. Our wood frames use solid pine and hardwood that resist warping over time, finished with hand-applied stains that bring out the natural grain.
Metal frames feature powder-coated steel that won’t chip or fade, even in high-traffic areas. The coating process creates a smooth, uniform finish that complements modern and traditional decor alike.

Sizing & Photo Compatibility
Our frame collection covers standard photo sizes from wallet prints to poster dimensions. The most popular sizes—4×6, 5×7, and 8×10—fit prints from any photo service or home printer without trimming.
Many of our frames include removable matting that gives you two display options in one frame. An 11×14 frame with an 8×10 mat opening lets you switch between sizes as your framing needs change. Simply remove the mat to display the larger image.
Display Options & Installation
Every frame in our collection includes mounting hardware suited to its size and weight. Small frames under 11×14 come with sawtooth hangers that install with a single nail, making them ideal for renters or temporary arrangements.
Larger frames feature D-ring hangers positioned for balanced weight distribution. We include both hangers and appropriate screws, though you may need wall anchors for drywall installation. Tabletop easel backs fold out securely and work on any flat surface without scratching furniture.

Picture Frame Questions
We carry frames in all standard photo sizes including 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, and 16×20 inches. Many frames include removable matting that allows you to display two different photo sizes in the same frame.
Larger poster sizes up to 24×36 are available in our metal and clip frame styles. Shadow boxes typically come in 8×10 and 11×14 sizes with varying depths from 1 inch to 2 inches depending on the model.
Most of our picture frames include both wall-mounting hardware and tabletop display options. Frames 8×10 and smaller typically feature easel backs for standing plus sawtooth hangers for wall mounting.
Larger frames come with D-ring hangers and screws for secure wall installation. Floating glass frames are designed primarily for tabletop display but can be wall-mounted with adhesive picture strips. Each product listing specifies the included mounting options.
Our wood and metal frames use real glass as the standard glazing material. Glass provides superior clarity and scratch resistance compared to acrylic.
Select lightweight frames and children’s frames feature shatter-resistant acrylic instead of glass for safety. Shadow boxes use museum-quality UV-protective glass to preserve delicate memorabilia. The product description for each frame specifies which glazing material is included.
Most frames have a backing board secured with flexible metal tabs or turn buttons. Simply bend the tabs outward or rotate the buttons to remove the backing, insert your photo against the glass, and replace the backing.
Frames with matting have a hinged mat that lifts to reveal the mounting area. Shadow boxes feature a hinged front that swings open for easy access. Floating glass frames use edge clips that slide off to separate the glass panels for photo insertion.
Many of our frames include pre-cut acid-free matting in white or cream. These mats are sized to display standard photos with a professional border.
Frames sold with matting give you the option to use the frame with or without the mat for two different display sizes. Additional mat colors and custom-cut mats are available separately for purchase if you want to change the look or frame non-standard artwork.
Standard frames work well for photos, art prints, certificates, and flat paper items. The backing board provides support for anything up to standard cardstock thickness.
Shadow box frames are specifically designed for three-dimensional objects like medals, flowers, tickets, and small keepsakes. The deep interior and included mounting pins let you arrange and secure items of varying thickness. Never force thick items into standard frames as this can crack the glass.
Clean glass with a microfiber cloth and alcohol-free glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth, not directly on the frame. Wipe wood frames with a dry or barely damp cloth and avoid furniture polish that can leave residue.
Metal frames need only regular dusting with a soft cloth. For fingerprints on powder-coated metal, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Never spray liquid cleaners near the frame edges where moisture could seep behind the glass and damage your photo.
